Learn to kayak this summer!

Learn and develop new skills and appreciation with our level 1 and level 2 certified ICU (Irish Canoe Union) kayak proficiency courses.

Level 1 Skills

This is a half day on the river, teaching basic skills and safety awareness, including a short trip. This gives candidates an introduction into the exciting world of kayaking, and a taste of what it has to offer.

Price: €45

Level 2 Skills

This is a two day course which will give you a well rounded introduction to kayak strokes, safety on the water and self rescue, giving you more personal confidence to go on and get more out of the sport. Successful candidates will be awarded a level 2 certificate, which is a declaration of personal competency and will allow them to continue on to the next level and explore the adventurous side of paddling. They will have gained the skills and confidence to progress to white water kayaking.

This two day course is run twice a month, upcoming dates are announced on our facebook group, or you can contact us directly. If you would like to book as a group of 4 or more, we can arrange dates and times to suit your needs. We can also facilitate running the course over 4 evenings.
You do not need Level 1 skills in order to do this course. Level 1 skills is included as part of level 2 training.

Cost: €100 (10% discount if booked as a group of 6 or more)

All courses provide safety equipment and insurance, all instructors are Irish Canoe Union certified, and participants who complete the courses will receive an Irish Canoe Union Level One or Two Certificate, as appropriate.
